Our team is at the core of everything that we do and plays a vital role in ensuring that every one of our customers receives the highest level of service and support.
Each month we will bring you an interview with one of our team of experts. In May, we sat down with our SIP Engineer Yufei Tao.
Hi Yufei,
Thank you for taking time out of your day to sit down and answer our questions – It is much appreciated.
How long have you been at Syntec and what does a normal working day look like for you?
I have been a SIP development lead at Syntec for just over 18 months. A normal working day involves working on VoIP systems, documenting and creating new functionality, troubleshooting, writing scripts, and lots and lots of testing.
If you could add one thing to Syntec’s office, what would it be?
Table tennis! ☺
What is your favorite tech toy — for work or play — that you can’t live without?
I’ve got a Raspberry Pi 4B, which can host my hobby web server and be put onto wheels – something I am looking forward to doing.
If you could have any job in the world, what would you do?
A food writer. This would allow me to travel around the world, explore different cultures, and sample all the nice food.
What is your favorite thing about working for Syntec?
There is no ‘pecking order’ as you often find in other organizations. Also, the team is given numerous opportunities to attend relevant technical events, as well as being encouraged to experiment with new technologies.
When you are not working, what are your favorite things to do?
Usually, it would be traveling but as this has not been possible in recent months due to the pandemic, I enjoy making nice food and gardening at home.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Neither – I need a lot of sleep! 😀
Which is your favorite season and why?
I like all seasons apart from winter when it’s cold and wet.
If you could time travel, when and where would you go?
There are many. But the first would be to go back to the Qin Dynasty and see how the first emperor united China.
What trait do you admire most in others?
The ability to grasp how society works and influence it effectively, making it a better world.
Thanks again for sitting down with us Yufei and for all of your answers – We hope that 2021 brings you more opportunities to travel!
Keep an eye out for next month’s blog where we will get to know another member of our team.
